About Me
Journey
I'm a full stack software engineer born and raised in Utah. I started getting into programming in high school and loved it since. I first started off writing simple Python scripts, then transitioned into C# and Java through Granite Technical Institute, my high school district's skills campus.
Once into college, I knew I made the right decision. I started to learn the basics and fundamentals of software engineering and began to really appreciate what they do. I learned the most during senior year, while juggling two sizable projects being Canvas Polls and SKi Lift. Canvas was the first time I dove into a production codebase, modified it with a feature, and shown it to others, while working in a 4 man team. I learned how to be a leader and how to go about managing a team thanks to both those projects.
I currently work at Mindfire Technology up in Layton, and have been doing so since September 2020 as a temp intern, and since March 2021 as an engineer. They're like family, just a small yet great group of people who love what they do, and am happy to count myself among them.
Interests and Hobbies
Yes, I enjoy not getting slapped with failed unit tests every once in a while. I enjoy:
-
Skiing
- Expect me at Brighton and Solitude.
-
Gaming
- Ever since the PS1 days, loved it. Went to PC eventually and got into hardware and building PCs.
-
Music
- Played clarinet for 10+ years, and switched to guitar for the last year. Probably would have went into music if not for CS.
-
Sneakers
- Started to get into collecting sneakers in 2018. I enjoy it, but it's only a once in a while thing.
